Parental controls
Last updated: 24 October 2026
YouMoan is for adults only. If children can use your phone, tablet or computer, the steps below help you keep adult websites, including YouMoan, off their screens. Most of them take a few minutes and are free.
The RTA label
Every page on YouMoan carries the RTA label ("Restricted To Adults"). It is a free, standard tag in the page code that tells parental-control software, browsers and filters that the site contains adult material. Our pages also mark themselves as adult content for search engines, so SafeSearch hides them. A filter that reads these labels blocks YouMoan automatically, without you having to add the address yourself.
iPhone and iPad
- Open Settings > Screen Time and turn it on for your child's device, or set up Family Sharing for your child's Apple Account.
- Go to Content & Privacy Restrictions, turn it on, then open App Store, Media, Web & Games > Web Content (called Content Restrictions on older versions).
- Choose Limit Adult Websites, or Allowed Websites Only for young children.
- Set a Screen Time passcode that your child does not know.
Android
- Install Google Family Link and set up supervision for your child's Google Account.
- In Family Link, open Controls > Content restrictions > Google Chrome and choose Try to block explicit sites. Under Google Search, keep SafeSearch on.
- For a filter that works in every browser and app on the device, set a family DNS service under Settings > Network & internet > Private DNS, for example
family.cloudflare-dns.com. The menu names can differ a little per brand.
Windows
- Give your child their own Microsoft account and add it to your family group with Microsoft Family Safety (Settings > Accounts > Family).
- In Family Safety, open your child's profile, go to Content filters > Web and search and turn on Filter inappropriate websites and searches.
- This filter works in Microsoft Edge. Block other browsers in the same settings so it cannot be bypassed.
Mac
- Give your child their own user account, or add them with Family Sharing.
- Open System Settings > Screen Time, select your child, open Content & Privacy and turn it on.
- Under web content, choose Limit Adult Websites (or allowed websites only), and set a Screen Time passcode.
Your router and DNS filters (every device at home)
A family DNS service blocks adult websites for every device on your home network at once, including game consoles and smart TVs. Log in to your router's settings page (the address is usually printed on the router) and replace the DNS servers with those of a free family filter:
- Cloudflare for Families:
1.1.1.3and1.0.0.3 - OpenDNS FamilyShield:
208.67.222.123and208.67.220.123 - CleanBrowsing Family:
185.228.168.168and185.228.169.168
Many routers and internet providers also offer their own parental controls with schedules and per-device rules. Check your router's app or your provider's customer pages.
A few more tips
- Use a screen lock on every device and do not share the code with children.
- Give children their own user account instead of letting them use yours.
- Do not let your browser remember the password of adult websites, and log out when you are done.
- No filter is perfect. Talk with your children about what they see online.
